i'm still here :)

hi everybody, i'm back from my unintentional hiatus..... so, what have i done during the past month? well, i got sick, and that was terrible, i finished two scarves, went trawling through the thrift stores and baked! so just he usual, lol. I'm always told by friends to go to thrift stores for yarn, because, i quote "THEY HAVE THE BEST YARN EVER, AND IT'S SO CHEAP!" and a couple of days ago, i found these:

this was $5. okay, so the color may be oaihroeihrtoiwsht but it's 100% cotton! yay! oh, this half-knitted piece came with it, plus a knitting needle and a pattern.....
and the next was....im not sure, because it just came in a plastic bag....

but  each bag was $6! 

so that's enough yarn bragging for now, i hope you all have a wonderful end to your week,

I'm alive!

Hello! yes, i am alive, I'm just a horrible blogger and can't keep up to date with things. anyway, this is going to be a short post :) I've just been knitting an easy-garter stitch scarf, it's for a friend. I got lazy and didn't want to follow a pattern, and i want it to have no mistakes in it, when i knit for friends i suddenly turn into a perfectionist -_-so this is my work from only one night:

sorry, i had to brag about it :P (I'm not really a quick knitter, but i used huge needles and thick yarn for this project!)  the yarn is a 100% wool that i found at a market for $8 (!) it's so lovely and the photo kind of messes up the color, it looks better in real life, promise. 
I'll try to start blogging more often, but I'm just drowning in work :(

cookies + new projects

hello again, me again. Nothing much has happened since two days ago....i did manage to freeze my ice cream and eat it for breakfeast, (it was yum!) so as promised, these are the photos:

ignore the brown flakes, that just some chocolate :P i also did some more baking today because i wanted to test out my piping skills......this was the icing:

FOOD!

Okay, so besides op-shopping and knitting, I love cooking (yay for feminism? lol). Baking actually, i never usually make savory dishes.....Anyway, yesterday i was on eyeittryit.com (i love all of her recipes! you should check them out!) i saw this: http://eyeitryit.com/2011/08/02/coconut-spinach-ice-cream/
It looked so good and it was so easy to make! (despite the fact that i LOVE baking, i fail in the kitchen.) but i had to subsitute a couple of things, instead of bananas i used half and apple (banana's are usually abundant in our household, but today I couldn't find any!) and I ran out of vanilla so i just winged it >.< Anyway, seeing as i just made this 15 minutes ago, here's a photo of what it currently looks like:

okay, so i admit it looks kinda disgusting, but its tastes so yummy! i have to pop it in the fridge for a night and i'm gonna eat it tomorrow for breakfast :) i'll try to remember to take some photos of when its frozen.

so do you remember that bag I was telling you about a couple of weeks back? Well, I've finished it, and i hate it. The color is just......okay, to clarify, I did not actually buy this yarn, it was given to me by a friend. It feels like a cotton blend and i'm in love with those types of yarns, so when i started the project, i shrugged and said "if it isn't pretty, at least it feels nice, right?" in short: i won't be wearing this bag out much.

yeah, the color is pretty blinding, so its currently residing on my bed post.

fail hiatus.

I just had a fail hiatus. I said i would be away for 2 weeks, but here i am, 2 days later >.< why am i so terrible with keeping routines?! I'm bored out of my mind studying! Anyway, i thought i'd just show you what my work space currently looks like:

Yes, i just learnt how to knit with double-pointed needles. its actually a 'achievement' for me, because i've always been scared of them, but i've always wanted to knit socks....so i'm testing this out and see if i actually like working with them, and if i dont, i'll just wing it.

My friend's birthday is in 2 days and i'm giving her that sushi scarf! I hope she loves it as much as i do....
Also, i went op-shopping today, and i found this bag for $3! Sorry, had to brag.

It needs some repair at the back because the leather straps holding the bag together are wearing thin, but i don't really care! It's awesome. I'm not really sure where this blog is going, because one minute I'm talking about DPNS and the next I'm talking about bags. I'm still undecided.

Being lazy

yes. its only been almost 2 weeks since I've been blogging, and I'm already calling a hiatus >.<  I'm terrible i know, but I have some studying to do! But I guess you won't mind, because nobody reads this blog anyway. this 'hiatus' is only going to be for a fortnight or so.....anyway, hope your all having a wonderful start to you week.
